Textiles- Garments, Quilts & Crochet
In 2022, Danielle found herself wanting to relearn how to sew. This was an attempt to find an outlet to center herself, which took her down the path of reconnecting to a skillset she abandoned as she became an adult. After purchasing a cheap Janome domestic sewing machine, she started to revisit techniques that her grandmother and mother taught her when she was younger. Each project has given her a chance to rebuild her skills for basic garment making, expand into learning quilting (including using a longarm machine), and successfully creating ready to wear garments for purchase.
Danielle’s sewing practice hopes to showcase vibrant, unique pieces that bring together her creative eye and handmade garments and textiles for your closet and home. Her sewing ethos includes honoring sustainability-focused practices as much as possible. By using thrifted materials, yarn with recycled t-shirts, zero waste patterns, and utilizing every “scrap” to create as many items she can from material, she is striving to balance creating “new” pieces and minimizing her personal impact on the environment.
